The Paramour's French 75
The Paramour’s French 75
“Of all the Gin Joints in All the Towns in All the World, She walks in to Mine…”
-Rick Blaine, Casablanca
Refreshing, clean, with just enough zing and some bubbles to top, The Paramour’s French 75 with Paramour Tea infused Gin is simply perfect for clink-o-clock. You wont have to get home an hour early to make it or break the bank purchasing exotic ingredients (which you’ll never use again) to create this drop.
So whether you’re celebrating the beginning of a beautiful friendship, or worried at this rate you'll never have Paris, round up the usual suspects and enjoy a French 75, Paramour style.
Ingredients
½ Cup Gin (Hendricks works well)
2 Teaspoons of The Earl’s Paramour Tea
3 Tablespoons Honey
3 Tablespoons Water
Per Serve you will need...
30mls of Infused Gin (instructions below)
30mls of Infused Gin (instructions below)
20mls Fresh Lemon Juice
15mls Honey Syrup (instructions below)
Champagne (or any good quality dry fizz will do)
Twist of lemon for garnish
Utensils Required
Jigger
Small Saucepan
Spoon, small whisk
Lemon Zester (or confident knife skills)
The fanciest glasses in the cupboard, because if you aren’t going to use them now, then when?
To Make Tea Infused Gin
Mix the tea leaves in the gin and leave for 1 hour+ to infuse. Drain the Gin, discarding the loose leaves. Keep aside or store in a clean, glass bottle.
To Make Sweet Syrup
Combine the honey and water in a small saucepan and place over a low heat. Stir gently until honey is combined, melted and has smooth consistency.
To make 1 serve of The Paramour's French 75
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in your infused gin, lemon juice and syrup. You can make multiple serves at once so adjust the contents of your accordingly. Ensure the lid is on tight before you start enthusiastically shaking it whilst singing your best rendition of Hey Ya by Outkast (shake-it-like-a-polaroid-picture…)
Remove the shaker lid. Strain the liquid into the glass and top up with fizz. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
Here’s looking at you kid...
Love,
The Paramour
